Hive Steam Release

Hive is coming very soon to Steam! The playtest has been approved for release and is currently circulating. The tentative full release date is June, 2024.

Latest Updates

There have been some major improvements to performance, above all else. After having opportunity to test the game extensively on handheld PCs, I made several changes to the engine rendering configuration that yielded significant FPS improvements, as well as a much more seamless gameplay experience during chunk generation.

• Max Gfx: 30FPS
• High Gfx: 50FPS
• Normal Gfx: 90FPS
• Lite Gfx: 120FPS

These tests were performed on an Asus ROG Ally. During chunk generation FPS will still stall, but not for very long. This is an improvement that I plan to make in the future, as it will require significant updates to the chunk generation process.

Saving and reloading games has also been significantly improved! Players will respawn in an accurately generated world from their save.
